In a community heavily impacted by gun violence, we believe it is crucial for youth to be educated about firearms and understand the real-world responsibilities and dangers associated with them. This workshop is intentionally designed to remove the curiosity around firearms and replace it with deep respect and practical safety protocols. We find that when youth are educated about firearms, they are less likely to engage in risky behaviors with them. Paired with this instruction, we also teach conflict resolution and discuss their individual conflict styles.
